About

We are driving food security solutions for Africa through regenerative aquaculture and circular economy practices.

From our roots in Busia Kenya, Hydro Victoria Africa has evolved into a thought leader, combining sustainable aquaculture, alternative protein production, and workforce development to empower youth, women, and marginalized communities. Our integrated approach transforms organic waste into high-quality animal feed, supports sustainable fish farming, and fosters economic opportunities for farmers and agripreneurs. Through research, innovation, and strategic partnerships, we are reshaping the future of food production in Africa.

Our Vision

A food-secure Africa where regenerative aquaculture fosters equitable opportunities for all.

Our Mission

To be an inclusive agribusiness social enterprise guided by the principles of regenerative aquaculture and sustainable waste management, and a circular economy.

Our impact

At the heart of our work is the flagship farm in Busia and the regenerative farm in Kilifi, Kenya – both key hubs of aquaculture and alternative protein innovation. Here are key activities and figures:

Aquaculture

Infrastructure

3 hatcheries | 45 fish cages
64 lined nursery ponds

BSF Farming

Larvae Production

250kg of BSF larvae monthly
Scaling up to 5 tons/month with 1,000 farmers

Production Capacity

Fish fingerlings

1.5 million fish fingerlings per year
30 tons of table-size fish annually

Since our inception in 2018, we have partnered with over 2,000 smallholder farmers, processing more than 50 tons of organic waste per month and producing roughly 5 tons of BSF larvae for fish feed. Our approach not only stimulates the fish feed market but also fosters sustainable livelihoods through regenerative aquaculture and circular economy practices.
